안녕하십니까?

오늘도 우리의 삶을 예비하시고 인도하시는 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 문안드립니다.

(이 편지는 아리조나 나바호원주민보호구역내 투바시티(Tuba City)에서 선교사 이 영호 목사가 보내드리는 미국 원주민 선교소식입니다.)

지난 소식을 드린 7월 이후에도 몇 가지 분주한 사역들이 있어서 세 달 만에 소식을 드리게 되었습니다.

1. PCS 목사들의 장마당사역 (이동진료차량)

Pastors Community Services in Market (Mobile Clinic)

2월 1일 이후 지난 금요일(10/4)까지 서른 번의 사역을 감당했습니다.

그동안 832명의 침사역, 392명의 어린이사역이 이뤄졌습니다.

We've served 832 Acupuncture and 392 Children Outreach in the last 30 services.

지난 4월 말, 이동진료차량의 백일몽을 시작한 이후 약 반 년 가까이 동료들과 다각도로 생각하고 토론하고 연구하던 끝에 한 가족으로부터 26피트 Toy Hauler Travel RV(캠핑카) 헌물을 약속받아 9월 초에 제 차량을 RV 견인이 가능한 픽업트럭으로 바꾸었고 조만간 RV가 현지에 도착하는 대로 이동사역의 질과 양이 대폭 변화발전하게 되었습니다.

함께 연구하고 기도해주신 분들, 씨앗헌금을 보내주신 분들, 특히 가족의 추억이 어린 RV를 헌물하시는 가족에게 진심으로 감사드립니다.

저희들은 현지사역에 최선을 다함으로 귀한 도우심에 일말이나마 보답하고자 합니다.

Since the first mention of mobile clinic daydreaming in April, we have been praying, talking, and researching diligently.

Finally, with a donation of 26' Toy hauler travel RV from a family, I changed my vehicle to a pickup truck to be able to haul the RV in September, so we are ready to begin the Mobile Clinic Ministry as the RV would be delivered to here very soon.

Many thanks to those who prayed and discussed together, who donated seed money, and especially to the family who is donating their beloved RV.

We will do our best in our services for these local people to be (or even close to be) worthy of the gift.

Please continue your prayer and support for this cause.

2. 단기선교 및 기타사역

Short-Term and Regular Ministries

지난 주 한 팀의 방문을 끝으로, 그리고 이달 말에 있을 창문막기(월동준비) 사역을 포함하여 일련의 단기선교가 마무리되었습니다.

이로써, 저 혼자 감당한 두 번의 사역과 방문팀의 열한 번의 사역 등, 총 열세 번의 단기사역을 감당하였습니다.

이제는 단기선교 활동이 예년과 같이 여름철에 국한되는 것이 아니라 봄, 여름, 가을 등, 날씨나 일정 등으로 사역이 쉽지 않은 겨울을 제외한 삼계절 사역이 되었습니다.

또한 사역팀의 연령이나 사역내용도 학생들이나 젊은이들이 주도하는 성경학교 일색에서 벗어나 전 연령층이 교회와 지역사회를 넘나들며 폭넓은 사역을 하게 되었습니다.

시간, 연령, 경험 등 제한된 사역범위로 인하여 사역에 동참하지 못하던 소규모, 혹은 중장년층의 교회나 단체에서도 새로운 선교기회에 동참하실 수 있기를 바랍니다.

저희들은 어떤 구성의 팀이라도 교회, 지역사회, 장마당을 통하여 원주민들을 섬길 수 있는 기회를 맞춤으로 만들어드리겠습니다.

With the last week ministry by a team and one more window insulation team at the end of this month, a series of Short-Term Ministries will be done for this year.

So, my own two, and eleven teams ministries, we have done thirteen short-term ministries.

Now, the short-term ministry is not only in summertime, but in those three seasons except the winter when weather and schedule are more complicated.

Also, team's demography and content of ministry, which used to be mostly young people for VBS, are beyond of those, all age groups can do many vary ministries in church, community, and market.

If any group has been hesitated due to their limited timing, age, size or capability, please come forward for widely open ministry opportunities.

We will do our best to arrange your group for the best ministry opportunity according to your own situation within our ministry perspectives in church, community, and market.

3. 방과후학교 건축부지 진척상황

Update on the After-School Building Project

이곳 행정처리 형편상 시간이 걸리고 있습니다.

하지만 건축부지 변경노력이 조금씩이나마 확실하게 진전되고 있습니다.

It takes a lot of time due to the local manner of doing business.

Slowly but certainly our effort to change the business site is going on.

4. 기타 계획

Upcoming Others

1) 무료 침치료를 포함하는 목사들의 지역봉사사역을 곧 천막시대에서 캠핑카시대로 바꾸는 작업이 진행될 것입니다.

We will work on the transition of our Pastors Community Services with Free Acupuncture from tent to travel RV.

2) 11월 중순 현지 투바시티 채프터하우스에서 주관하는 연례 감사절 주민잔치에 동참할 계획입니다. 이 행사에서는 팔백 명 이상의 주민들에게 음식을 대접하는데 우리는 돼지고기를 두 가지 맛으로 요리하여 대접하고자 합니다. 식사도중 생음악 연주를 하게 될 수도 있습니다. 동참을 원하시는 분들은 연락주시기 바랍니다.

We'd like to partake the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Party for more than 800 local people hosted by the Tuba City Chapter House with two flavored pork dishes. We may do live music during the meal time. Any group who'd like to join us will be welcomed.

3) 현지 형편에 밝은 여러분들의 성원에 힘입어 주로 원주민들에게 주어지는 것이지만 예외조항으로 개인주택지 신청에 들어갈 계획입니다. 이것이 의미하는 바가 지대하지만 그 구체적인 내용은 말보다는 실체로 보여드리기를 원합니다. 기도해주십시오.

With a lot of encouragements and recommendations of those who know what's going on here, we will apply a Home Site, which originally for local people only but, as of exceptional case. It has may ministry implications but we will show you what are those not with word but with the result. Please pray for this.

4) 이곳 날씨와 기타 형편으로 인하여 활발한 현지사역이 어려워지는 겨울철을 맞이하여 12-1월경에 차량이동으로 미 동부를 포함하는 외부 방문을 계획하고 있습니다. 가능하다면 여러 만남을 통하여 선교의 꿈과 전략을 나누고 싶습니다. 기도해주시고 초청해주시기 바랍니다.

Winter here is a time of hibernation for ministry due to weather and schedules. So, we want to travel by car to meet and share our mission vision and strategy with many people, including East Coast, in December and January. Please pray for this and invite us into your place.
